Saturday, Dec. 20, at 4:00 p.m., we did the raffle drawing for the prizes slated for 2nd place in the King Tournament. We divided the tackle into 9 smaller prizes to give more of the registered anglers a shot. The results were: William (Bill) S. was the first name drawn and got the 8-prong stainless steel King gaff; Chuck O. got a 1200 yard spool of Sufix 832, 30# braid line; Corey D., Chandler H., Brock L., Hayden V., Jeffery T., and Brandon M., each received a variety of the following tackle- Sufix Advanced 100% fluro leader, Rapala Xtreme Saltwater Slash bait, Storm 6” Swim baits, 3rd Coast Soft Plastic lures and 3rd Coast Jigs and Jig heads.






Daily activity:
Thursday: water temp 61.8 E8-13mph in the a.m. / 62.8 SE 19-25mph in the p.m. The water was clean.
Friday: water temp New Moon water temp 62.6 N 12-18mph in the a.m. / 63.3 N 6-10mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There were a few Bluefish, a couple of Red Drum, Whiting and Flounder caught today.
Saturday: water temp 62.2 ENE 7-11mph in the a.m. / 62.2 SE 9-11 mph. The water was stained in the shallows. There were Bluefish, Red Drum, Black Drum, Whiting and a couple of Flounder decked today.
Sunday: water temp 61.7 ENE 4-10mph in the a.m. / 63.0 WNW 1-5 in the p.m. The water was clearing from yesterday’s silt. There were Spanish Mackerel and Whiting on the catch list. A few Pompano schools were spotted. A couple of Palometa were caught.

Monday: water temp 63.0 NE 3-6mph in the a.m. / 63.5 W 2-5mph in the p.m. The water was clean. A couple of Sheepshead, a few Pompano and Flounder were caught. The Flounder fishermen were losing their live bait to Puffer fish. Brandon’s niece caught her first shark.
Tuesday: water temp 62.8 E 5-10mph in the a.m. / 64.0 WSW 2-5mph in the p.m. The water was clean. Fishing was slow with only a few Whiting caught.
Wednesday: water temp 62.4 NNE 2-5mph in the a.m. / 62.4 W 4-7mph in the p.m. The water was clean,
Red Tide status: The current red tide status in Northwest Florida indicates that red tide concentrations have significantly increased over the past week, with bloom-level concentrations of the organism Karenia brevis detected in samples from Bay and Gulf counties. Confirmed fish kills, suspected to be related to the red tide, have been reported in both Bay and Gulf counties.
